Some unusual reactions of dimers of F-propene with thiols

Reactions of $\text{F}$-2- and -4-methly-2-pentenes with thiols were found to involve an oxidation-reduction system. 1,4-Elimination of sulfenyl fluorides from thio-substituted perfluoroolefins to form 1,3-dienes and disulfides is suggested as the reaction pathway.

Heavy muon as a possible cause of two anomalies

We propose to explain two observed anomalies that suggest extension of the minimal gauge scheme, the eμ production in the e⁺e^? reaction and the anomalous y-distribution in $\text{ν}{}_{\mathrm{\mu }}$ reactions, as being caused by a single object, a heavy muon. With more accurate neutrino data this explanation can readily be distinguished from that of a new quark production.     

Large width gluonic bound state in J/Ψ radiative decay

The photon spectrum in the radiative decay of J/Ψ is analysed with a Breit-Wigner and background terms based on a duality hypothesis. We obtain a fit with a resonance, which is considered to be a 2⁺ gluonic bound state, of a mass around 2 GeV and a width around 0.6 GeV. Implications of the ? and toponium decays are also discussed.     

Effects of carbon filler on sorption and diffusion of gases through rubbery materials

Effects of carbon filler on the sorption and diffusion of carbon dioxide in natural rubber and in styrene-butadiene rubber have been studied. Sorption isotherms conform to Henry's law in unfilled rubber and to Langmuir's law in carbon black. The isotherms in filled rubber exhibit a combination of the two sorption modes. The Henry's law solubility parameter k_D increases with carbon filler content; the Langmuir saturation constant C′_A initially is constant with filler level, but then decreases abruptly when carbon particles begin to aggregate. The diffusion coefficient decreases with increasing filler content, presumably owing to geometric effects and to polymer chain immobilization in the interfacial regions.
